Fishing report for the week of May 15th to 21st: shadow fishing and Delta bass is the center of attention.
Well, I might have gone crazy but Fishing Resort looks like a fun game.As the title implies, you've gone on vacation to a fishing resort. You create your character (which bears a striking resemblance to an XBox avatar) and go fishing. As far as I know the only real goal to the game is catching one of every different fish species. Much like the Animal Crossing games, you have an aquarium in which to store the creatures. There's a wide variety of fish to obtain and I read that you can even catch a whale shark (which doesn't make too much sense considering they feed on plankton and most likely wouldn't be attracted to a fishing lure and how on earth you'd lug this thing back to an aquarium by yourself is beyond me. Maybe I'm looking too deep into this.)The major feature that separates this game from your typical arcade-style fishing games (Sega Bass Fishing) is that you are not limited to specific levels. In Fishing Resort you can go wherever you please and fish as long as there's water. You can even go ice fishing.Just going by the videos and pictures I've seen; this game has very impressive graphics.Dare I use the tired cliche: 'It looks good for a Wii game'?
However, I don't mean that in a derogatory stance. I say that with sincerity in mind.Oh. And this game has a bundle with a shell for your Wii Remote and Nunchuk to create a fishing rod. It looks pretty ridiculous but maybe it functions as it should.-Anybody else heard of this game?.edited out dead pic links. Retrosportsgamer wrote:When it says 'Includes Controller' does it mean a Wiimote + the fishing rod adapter, or do you think it is implying just the plastic rod?Just the plastic shell. You'll need to supply your own Wii Remote and Nunchuk. But who doesn't have 10 of those things anyway. And the game can be had for $20 without the controller shell.

I think with it, it's $30.Ah, I didn't know the priced point going into my post so that makes it very clear it's just that cool piece of white plastic. Inazuma wrote:does look like a nice and relaxing game. Good change of pace from action games.
I'd buy this if I could find it cheap. Can your Wii play American games? Buying a domestic copy would be affordable.I know you really prefer importing but the prices on the Japanese copies are outrageous.
(I checked ebay and play-asia. There may be better import sites though.)It's true that buying Japanese import games when they are new is extremely expensive, but if I wait long enough, the prices will come down.I have no way to play American Wii games anyway.
I don't mind waiting years for this one. I've had my mind set on buying it for a few weeks now. I think the combination of the awesome fishing rod plastic attachment, Xseed Games, and the appealing look of the game has pretty much solidified a purchase from me. It doesn't hurt that the set is only $30.It does seem like a nice and relaxing game and to be honest I need something that doesn't require a lot of brain power or commitment to a deep story. I am way to busy at this time (hosting family for thanksgiving, 7 week old baby girl, master's degree, work, wife, and chores!) to really sit down and play long games so this is the perfect distraction.
